- Yo folks,
-
- I just write this mail because I have some big troubles
- with my Amiga and my new Qunatum Fireball 1080S.
-
- First of all my computerconfig:
-
- A2000 ECS with GVP G-Force 68030/68882, 25MHz, 9MB Fast
- (segmented in 4MB at $00200000 and 5MB at $01000000),
- gvpdevice : gvpscsi 4.5 (07 Feb 1992) Ralph Babel.
- Kick 3.1 & Picasso II 2MB.
-
- Internal SCSI-devices : Unit0 is Quantum Trailblazer 850S,
- Unit1 is CD-Rom Compaq.
- External SCSI-devices : Unit6 is Quantum Fireball 1080S.
-
-
- Cabling-scheme : Unit1---Unit0---Host--:--Unit6
- -- internal -- -- external --
-
-
- Unit1 and Unit6 are terminated.
-
- Well, ok, now to my problem:
- When my external scsibox is switched off, nothing goes
- wrong. My system boots without any trouble.
- But when I switch on my SCSIbox together with my Amiga,
- system either shows a guru ($80000025 most time) or the
- HD-LED lights (not flashes!) , but system doesn't boot.
- When I then turn off the Scsibox, systems starts booting
- without any problems immediatly.
-
- After system has booted, there's no problem to turn on
- the scsibox and bind in the Fireball manually be using
- GvpScsiCtrl with option -r.
- There are no problems reading or writing the Fireball
- from either RAM or CD-Rom/Trailblazer.
-
- But when I reset with turned on Fireball my system does
- hang in 90 from 100 reboots.
-
- Well, can anyone help me, because it's really nerving
- to turn off the Fireball on every reboot and turn it on
- 30 secs. later. Furthermore it isn't that good for a hd
- to be turned out and on very often a day, is it ?
-
- Yours,
-
- Jens.
